Meet IPLogic's Jessica Mayo-Pike

One of "The faces behind the fastest-growing companies"

from the "The Business Review"
(AlbanyBusinessReview.com, July 1-7, 2011)

Jessica Mayo-Pike believes you can measure the success of people, and businesses, by how well they respond to challenges.

That is why she enjoys being part of IPLogic Inc., a Latham communications technology firm that grew its revenue 59 perecent, to $63 million, over the past four years.

"It is an exciting time to be at IPLogic," she said "It is a very innovative, forward-looking company."

Mayo-Pike joined IPLogic earlier this year in a newly created business development position. While the company's main focus is on hardware and software products for telephone, wireless, security, video and data systems, it needed someone to focus on sales of its newer "management services," such as cloud computing.

"They knew that if they didn't have someone dedicated to it, they wouldn't be able to take that business to the next level," said Mayo-Pike, who formerly worked in telecommunications sales in the Albany office of One Communications.

Mayo-Pike is one of about 20 people IPLogic plans to hire this year, bringing total employment at the 10-year-old firm to 119. Despite being one of the newcomers, she has seen that such growth can present challenges for the longer-term employees.

"There is that whole dynamic of culture change, and things happening quickly, and getting people to adapt to that change," she said. "It is human nature not to accept change. But the companies and people who grow are those who can adapt."
